Colored Hair Streaks: Bangs or not?

I really want some colored streaks in my hair. I have dark brown hair, thin, and I have bangs. I have very pale skin and hazel eyes. What unnatural, crazy, funky color streaks should I get? How long will they last? Will it damage my hair? Should I get a couple in my bangs or would that look stupid? HELP!!!
