How do you make a Rube Goldberg machine?

I have been working on this for over a week and I keep getting stuck on different steps. I need to pop a balloon and I want to do it by lighting a match and heating the balloon but I am willing to change that. It needs to be withing the dimensions of .85 m x 1 m x 1 m. Could anybody please send me a detailed step by step list on how to build one? It would be really helpful!
